Chandelier Barn Renovation

Updated: May 26, 2022

We're excited to announce the upcoming renovation of the Chandelier Barn! We are thrilled to add modern features that will make it a gorgeous, stand-out location for weddings, events, and our barn markets. We hope you will follow along with us as we take you through the process!

Many of you already know that Chandelier Barn moved to a new location back in 2020 to the Gasthof Amish Village in Montgomery, Indiana centered around a new-to-us barn in the middle of a big field. We made the move right as the Covid pandemic hit and everything was shutting down... not great timing! Luckily, our business was considered an outdoor event so we were very fortunate to have survived.

We are now hosting an artsy barn market three times a year and have also opened a brick and mortar store, right across the field, called Chandelier Barn—open five days a week.

While this adorable barn sat empty between show dates, we decided to open it up for barn weddings. It's been great so far, however, we knew right away it needed a few modern conveniences such as proper restrooms, heating and cooling, serving areas, loft space, seating, and of course another Chandelier or two!

So the decision has been made to make this happen—this year! We have a show and a scheduled wedding to get through in May, another wedding in June, and then the renovation begins!

The current barn, as it stands, was built by local Amish carpenters in the early 80's using mortise and tenon construction. It boasts huge wooden sliding doors, a large loft, and concrete floors. We plan to keep the rustic barn charm on the interior, leaving all that original beauty! However, the barn will get a crisp white exterior to allow for proper installation, new black roof, and other modern features that will make it a gorgeous, stand-out location for weddings, events, and our barn markets.

We hope you will follow along with us as we take you through the process! Working alongside the Fuhs family, we are confident this ol' barn will become a jewel for our community and surrounding areas to enjoy. Watch for updates and new posts to see all the changes and progress. Here's the best part: We hope to have it finished before our FALL SHOW this September and for the scheduled September and October weddings! We can't wait for you to see!
